1938 Mack Model BX Fire Engine

This truck came to us from a private owner in Woburn MA.  It was originally purchase by the city of Woburn in 1938 and retired in 1969 when a school in Pennsylvania bought it and drove it back to PA.  On the way it had head gasket issues and was repaired and driven in parades for a couple years and then fell into disrepair and was eventually sold.   The current owner was the buyer in 1982 and had it for 25 years before coming to see us about restoring it.

After many years of work it is finally done and back on the road.  We did a complete restoration on this one including rebuilding the engine, transmission, rear differential and fire pump.  The wood framed cab ended up being a challenge but in the end it came out really nice and the doors shut like new.
