1895 Hose Reel
Mt. Morris, IL
This is the latest full restoration to roll out of the shop for August 2024. Mt. Morris Illinois FD sent this to us a few months ago and we were excited to get to work on it as we have never restored anything from the 1800's. This 1895 hose cart was in good condition and is an entry level model that we modified per the customer to have some more options than it did originally. A fire axe holder, play pipe holder and tow rope roller system were installed. We also fabricated custom brackets and installed those on the rear of the cart for a future wooden box installation.
Pin striping was done by Charlie "the one armed bandit" from Vernon CT. This put the cherry on top and is the original artwork that we found under the many layers of paint removed. The 1951 Maxim in the background happened to be there also completed the same day and we thought it would make a good photo behind the hose cart (just for fun).
